Black Velvet Mary-Jane Flat with Embroidered Rose

When I was a little girl I remember a slightly different version my mom and aunt would wear and could never find them locally or even online,- when I did they just weren't as cute as the ones I found at Naked City. The flower print is a bit different than the 70's and 80's but, these are still just as cute. I love that they are velvet (velvet that does not shed or seperate from the material) and the rose is so vibrant and not completely centered on the foot area but slightly to the side which makes them even cuter in my opinion. I appreciate the shape of the toe area as well. Not too boxy, not too tiny. My feet are covered just enough and the strap is in the perfect spot for me. The bottom of the shoe and the soles are pretty sturdy,..comfortable for being flats or I couldn't commit to wearing them! I have just always loved the look. These are my second pair in about 7 years from Naked City Clothing. I just read the review below and I have to say I haven't had issues with my clasps on these yet- but, definitely it is something you put up with when wearing these. I own several! Can't believe my review starts with my mom and so did theirs. hahaha

I have been wearing these flats since I was 14 years old. My mother wore them in the 90's(also purchased from Nakedcity) and they've never lost their charm. The buckle has always been a pain in the ass. I had always wished they would make these with a clasp or something stronger. I had been stopping every 200 feet to readjust my shoe buckle every day for 10 years. Rain or shine, these were my go to shoe. Maybe it's why I have lower back pain now..
It's been a few years now since I have owned a pair. But it is now time. It is time to reintroduce these beauts into my life. I am ready for these adorable pain in the ass shoes to be my summer staple.
